City Wide Worship & Prayer

Invitation to the Community

To: Los Alamos Area Christian Clergy

Subject: Invitation to participate in City-Wide Worship and Prayer (Interdenominational)

I am pleased to announce the formation of City-Wide Worship and Prayer, Thursdays, 11:30 am-1 pm on a "Stop and Go" basis. centrally located at First United Methodist Church, Los Alamos beginning May 8, 2003. the vision and blueprint for our Christian community uniting in worship and prayer on a regular basis was given to me by the Holy Spirit a year ago. After prayer, fasting, and waiting for His perfect timeing, He has revealed that it is now time to form such a partnership; and I invite you to be a participating church. Feel free to call me (672-9864) if you have question.

The Los Alamos Prayer Network (LAPN), made up of representatives from 10 local churches, has agreed to serve as a Core Group for making decisions for the immediate future while the Steering Committee membership is developed and becomes functional. Topics that will be addressed by the Committee inclde assuring that this ministry will be truly owned by the participating churches and not seen as aproselytizing effort by any particular denomination. Interested unchurched attendees will be referred to participating churches for follow-up, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, service, etc. Please consider the following characteristics when appointing your Steering Committee representative: maturity, motivation to work toward common goals, Holy Spirit-led, administrative gifting, accountability, willingness to represent your congregation, and to serve under your spiritual authority.

I hope your church chooses to participate, and I look forward to working with your representative. If you want to check my references, you may contact Clergy Barry Dickens, Chuck McCullough, or Barbara Henderson.

Sincerely,

Gail Diedrich
