STEWARDSHIP: THE MISSING PIECE TO SUCCESSFUL CHRISTIAN LIVING DAVE RING, PASTOR Gospel Scripture Text: Matthew 25:14-30 -- "The Parable of the Talents" Biblical Principles of Money Management Number one: ____________________________. (Vss. 14-19) Two implications - First, _______________________________ __________________________________________________. The owner has ____________. The "steward" has __________________. Stewardship is the use of _________________________ for the accomplishment of _______________________. Second, ___________________________________________. A quote from Ron Blue: "You can't fake stewardship. Your checkbook reveals all that you really believe about stewardship. A life story could be written from a checkbook. It reflects your goals, priorities, convictions, relationships, and even the use of your time. A person who has been a Christian for even a short while can fake prayer, Bible study, evangelism, going to church, and so on - but he can't fake what his checkbook reveals." Number two: God uses _______________________________ ________________________________________. (Vss. 20-23) Money and possessions are a very effective _______________ Two Responses During a Major Financial Change _________________ -- God, what do you want me to learn? _________________ -- God, why are you doing this to me? Money and possessions are a very effective _____ that God uses in our lives. "So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?" -- Luke 16:11-12 Money are possessions are a very effective ___________ that God uses in our lives. Too many live for the world that _____ instead of the world that ________________. Number three: ___________________________. (Vss. 21-23) The amount you have is unimportant to God, but how you handle what you have been entrusted with is very important. Number four: ____________________________! (Vss. 24-30) The wicked servant knew what to do, but he did nothing. Many of us know what to do but we disobey or delay. Today we have a chance to change this. "Changed Lives" by Ben Haden "I want to tell you something from observation. I have never met anyone who tithed who did not tend to be happy about the fact that he did. He was not just happy about tithing…but about a lot of other things, too. I've never met anybody who tithed for very long who gave it up. But I've also never met anyone who tithed who did not say that at times it has been extremely difficult. Generous people seem to be the happy ones. Miserly people seem to be the unhappy ones. A critical spirit is with those who are not giving people. Just look around you and you can tell."
