"JOHN'S GOSPEL -- CHAPTER THIRTEEN" We continue this week with a "sermonic study" of the Gospel of John. It's my intention to preach and teach us through John's Gospel, with occasional interruptions, throughout the first half of 2009. John 13:1-17 Teaching "servant leadership" by example This is John's recollection of the "Last Supper" Peter's misunderstanding and grudging acceptance of Jesus' act Jesus' interpretation of his actions John 13:18-30 A time of betrayal Prophetically, someone had to betray Jesus Jesus knows, but Judas himself may not realize it - until he decides John 13:31-38 When the going gets tough, even the best disciples go astray All that is ahead is God's plan, at least in broad outline The "extreme love" commandment Peter's professed devotion is "all show, no go" Next week we'll move on to John 14. Please continue to read ahead!
