"JOHN'S GOSPEL -- CHAPTER FIFTEEN"

We are continuing this week a "sermonic study" of the Gospel of John. At our present pace we should be able to finish this series of sermon messages by the end of June.

John 15:1-8 Spiritual vines, branches, and fruit

A significant allegory of God-human relationships

The importance of remaining or "abiding" in Christ
_______________________________________________________

John 15:9-17 Love, love, and more love

"If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love"
_______________________________________________________

"You are my friends if you do what I command"
_______________________________________________________

"Love each other"
_______________________________________________________

John 15:18-27 Unreasonable, but not unexpected, hatred from the world

Don't be surprised, don't expect to "fit in"
_______________________________________________________

This hatred stems from Jesus' exposure of sin
_______________________________________________________

With the help of the Holy Spirit, we must "testify" to Jesus
_______________________________________________________
