"JOHN'S GOSPEL -- CHAPTER EIGHTEEN" We are continuing a "sermonic study" of the Gospel of John, and nearing the conclusion thereof. At our present pace we should be able to finish this series of messages by Sunday, June 28. John 18:1-11 Jesus' arrest Jesus' forthright admission of his identity (twice over) Peter's momentary bravado John 18:12-27 Off to the high priest(s) (Religious court) It's a family affair (Annas and Caiaphas) Peter folds (three times) "If I speak the truth, why strike me?" John 18:28-40 Off to Pilate (Secular court) Capital punishment is the desire Pilate has no concept of "truth" Pilate really wants "out" of this situation, but the crowd (incited by the Jewish leaders) won't allow him to release Jesus Next week we'll move on to John 19.
