"JOHN'S GOSPEL -- CHAPTER TWENTY" We are continuing a "sermonic study" of the Gospel of John, and nearing the conclusion thereof. This is the next-to-last such message; on June 28th we will cover the final chapter of John. John 20:1-9 No body where it ought to be The tomb is open; Mary Magdalene suspects thievery Peter and John investigate Jesus' body has been unwrapped; what's going on? John 20:10-18 Mary Magdalene becomes the first witness She still thinks thievery, asks two angels for explanation Jesus speaks; Mary believes Mary tells the good news to Jesus' disciples (how many?) John 20:19-23 Jesus appears to (some) of His disciples Calming their fear is agenda item one A different account of the giving of the Holy Spirit John 20:24-31 Thomas catches up with the great news Honest doubt Doubt erased by tangible evidence Next week we'll finish up with John 21.
