Special Collection for
El Calvario
El Calvario’s mission is to “serve the poor, the stranger, and the captive.” They provide a short-term shelter, serve meals, organize a Resiliency and Wellbeing Program, and run the Community and Immigrant Advocacy Center. They provide support for the community of Las Cruces and asylum seekers. Due to a sudden loss of funding, and waiting over a year for reimbursement for expenses, they need generous donations. In the past, we partnered with El Calvario Church through volunteers, donating supplies, and donating money. Now, the missions team pledged $2,000 to El Calvario to support their important social and economic development programs. This is your opportunity to help match those funds. They are also asking for your prayers that they will continue to be a center of empowerment and resilience for their community. You can donate by writing a check to First UMC Los Alamos and in the memo line put El Calvario or online at lafumc.org/giving and select El Calvario. Thank you for your gifts and helping us to be God’s love in action. If you have questions, please contact Camille Wescott at Camilleswescott@gmail.com
