Community Clean Up 
Saturday, September 19th
9 a.m. meet at the church
 

Help clean up our one mile stretch of Diamond Drive from the Omega Bridge to North Road. We will meet at the church at 9 a.m. get suited up and head out. Be refreshed by a fruit pop after we finish. Questions email: camilleswescott@gmail.com.

Our handbells and choir practice on Wednesdays. Handbells at 6:30 p..m. and Choir at 7:15 p.m. We invite new voices and ringers. Questions email Valerie Collins at dirmusic@lafumc.org.

McCurdy Work Days
Tuesday, September 15th
Meet at church 1 p.m. to carpool
 

We have a group of people who go down to McCurdy one each month to volunteer. We sort clothing, level books, whatever they need help with. You are welcome to join us each month, we meet in the church parking lot at 1 p.m. and then head back to Los Alamos about 4 p.m.

Food Pantry

Thank you for your generous donations for our food pantry and for L.A. Cares. Your support helps feed many in the Los Alamos Community. Donations may be left in the cart in the church entry or placed inside the pantry box.

Animal Blessing

Join us Sunday, September 27th, for our annual animal blessing. We will gather at noon on the front lawn. Bring your pet or animals to receive a blessing from Pastor John.

My Side of the River by Elizabeth Camarillo
 

Our next book is "My Side of the River" by Elizabeth Camarillo Gutierrez. Our discussion will be November 18th at 10 a.m. The book is a deeply moving memior about the of a first-generation Mexican-American who is separated from her Mexicanimmigrant parents at the age of fifteen. Her harrowing, tumultuouis journey from a childhood of poverty, to a homeless, food-insure teen, to the Ivy League and beyond, is empowering and insipirational. There are 2 books on the Social Action shelf of the United Women in faith section of the church library. Mesa Public Library has an audio

Book Club Meeting

Clubhouse Knitters
Mondays at 1:30 p.m.

Our clubhouse knitters meet on Mondays at Ridge Park Clubhouse. We invite all knitters and crocheters to bring a project and join us for fellowship as we work together on our projects.
